They May Never Crawl

We are starting to wonder how Miles and Vivienne will ever learn to crawl.  (I'm sure someday I'll look back at this and laugh... or cry.)  They don't spend any time on their tummies.  We put them down on their bellies, but as soon as their tummies touch the floor, they immediately flip over.  They have never taken a nap or slept at night on their tummies, either.  It seems like most mommies that I've talked to say that their kids started doing a swim-like motion on their bellies before they figured out how to transition it to crawling.  Well, at this pace, we might just have to wait for our babies to stand up and walk.  =)  I don't mind, though.  It's nice to know that I can walk away for a couple minutes and they will be right where I left them when I return.

  1. Maybe this is some twin blessing you all received so you can stay sane a bit longer? Once Miles and Vivienne start crawling, they're going to give you quite the workout keeping up with them!! :)

  2. Haha, in a couple of months you will be wishing they had never learned. Some things to try: Putting toys just out of their reach, hanging out with kids that are crawling (or crawling yourself), putting them on a hardwood floor where it is not as comfortable to lay on your back (we know a kid that developed an awesome spidey crawl where he slid on his tummy on hardwood floors), put a blanket over a boppy and then place them on their tummy with arms over the back and put toys in front of them, put them on hands and knees by propping them up with a dish towel under the tummy. Just some ideas if you are feeling bored, I am sure they will be mobile in no time.
