Miles is a Seven Pounder

We weigh the babies before and after each feeding so that we can calculate exactly how much milk they are consuming at each session.  Jason has a cute habit of making a show out of the whole ordeal.  It's similar to what you expect to hear in a boxing ring... "And in this corner, Miles the Beast, weighing in at..."  Last night, Miles hit his first 7 pound mark.  We are both so proud of him.  I said that it's like Man Versus Food, a show with a guy who goes around the country and does eating challenges.  Jason said that our version would be Man Versus Boob.  =)

Miles with his first 7 pound milestone (no pun intended).

  1. Oh my gosh! They're growing so fast already!

  2. How much (on average) are they gaining per feeding now?

  3. They seem to eat anywhere from 1 oz to 2.5 oz per feeding. They usually average around 1.6 oz right now, I would say. They are 18 days old, but they're still not to their due date, so I'm not sure how quickly this will ramp up as they get a little older. It sounds like Cynthia's babies eat a lot per feeding, so I guess this could increase very quickly.

  4. Hey girls, we are excited about using the scale (and what a surprise for Michael to run into you guys today!). When Cindi was here, we were really surprised to find out that they each took 4oz (that was between 4~5pm), we just weight them today at 9:30~10:30am, each took 1.4 and 1.6oz, so I guess it varies. They are close to 11lbs each maybe that's why they could hold more milk, although Lin spits up quite often. I am keeping a record from today so next week we will have a better idea.

  5. It was so neat to see Michael this morning. I'm so glad that Cindi was helpful. She just seemed great when we met her. It's great that the boys are growing so quickly and it sounds like they have a great appetite. Our typically would eat between 1 oz and up to 2.8 oz (I think that's our max record at this point). We had to return the scale this morning, but we bought one on Amazon so that we can keep weighing them in the future.
